Get ready to see quite a few Bridgerton inspired wedding trends in the near future, including Regency-era wedding gowns. We’re talking Empire waists, puffed cap sleeves and dainty detailing, like beading, lace or embroidery around the collar and bust.

Perhaps the most major sartorial theme of 2021 is the trend of dressing to the max, no matter the occasion. The recent rise in over-the-top headpieces in place of traditional bridal veils fits right in with our new love of showboating. 3. schitt’s Creek-inspired Groomswear
Who could’ve guessed a show about a deeply out-of-touch family living in the middle of nowhere would supply such a surfeit of sartorial inspirations? Or, in terms that aren’t quite so Moira Rose, the shopping influence of Schitt’s Creek has extended beyond Alexis’s boho frocks and into the realm of wedding attire. Specifically, grooms are on the hunt for “men’s wedding skirts” to emulate David Rose’s Thom Browne number worn during the final episode.

4. engagement Watches
Consider this a gender-neutral and (slightly) more practical alternative to engagement bands. Couples are choosing to celebrate their engagement with matching or coordinating watches either in place of or in addition to diamond rings. Some are blingy show-off timepieces with gems and the initials or wedding date of the couple, but others are simpler with hidden engravings or other personal touches that the happy duo can wear anywhere even long after the wedding.

The idea of having a second wedding dress to change into later in the evening is nothing new, but 2021 brides aren’t just looking to swap one ballgown for another. These secondary outfits feel less traditionally bridal and more like white party getups, featuring embellished pants, rhinestone heels and all manner of minidresses. Another trend likely inspired by Bridgerton, corsetry is making a comeback. Searches for corseted gowns and wedding-night lingerie corsets are on the rise, though the top pieces purchased for both appear to be simpler styles rather than uber-sexy pin-up numbers.
