This Magical Treehouse Getaway in Maine Proves It’s Never Too Early to Plan a Summer Escape

Are you in the market for an adventurous vacation but don’t know where to begin? Look no further than The Woods Maine, which is a “redefined” treehouse that’s currently available to rent.

The property doubles as a travel destination, retailing for $575 a night for up to four guests. As you can see in the video, the luxurious treehouse includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, a living room, a dining area and a screened-in porch, so don’t expect any ordinary backyard fortress.

The rental is located in Norway, Maine—which is about a one-hour drive from Portland—and sits on a ten-acre lot with private access to Lake Pennesseewassee (say that five times fast). According to the listing, The Woods Maine is “A treehouse by convention, a high-end home by design.”

The property was built in 2019. It was designed by Pete Nelson and constructed by Nelson Treehouse & Supply, who thoughtfully selected every detail to ensure it went above and beyond traditional getaways.

“The Woods is a quintessential New England-style home in the trees,” the website reads. “Private, secluded and effortlessly livable if you never want to leave.”

Basically, it’s an adult version of the treehouse our dad never built us (which, yes, we’re still bitter about).

If you need us, we’ll be researching travel to Maine.
