The place has extras available such as chairs and a cooler to take to the beach (a wonderful touch).”

Side note: I visited Aruba last year and the resort where I stayed, Renaissance WInd Creek Aruba, is famous for its private island where flamingos roam free. (It’s wild!) • Sleeps: 6

When you think of spring break in Mexico, Cancun is probably the first place that comes to mind. Skip the crowds of partying college kids and seek a more authentic escape in the Baja region of Cabo San Lucas. The city is still widely known for its nightlife and party scene, but there are more interesting cultural experiences to be had too—from camel-back desert tours to taco trucks. This particular property is just minutes away from the beautiful beach El Medano and boasts incredible views of the city’s most famous natural attraction, El Arco (i.e., the Arch). The interior is well-appointed and tastefully decorated by an interior designer, and the larger complex boasts luxury amenities, including a shared pool, tennis court and gym.

Want a vacation to Greece without the steep airfare? This Santorini-inspired pad in sunny San Diego has exactly what you’re looking for, and is conveniently located just minutes away from downtown and a short drive from the city’s most famous attractions (San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park and SeaWorld, to name a few). The cottage’s European design makes for a very Insta-worthy stay; highlights of the property include a balcony with sweeping views of the harbor and city skyline, a spiral staircase leading to a rooftop jacuzzi, and a private back patio with fireplace.

The perfect five-star reviews speak for themselves, though, like this one, which reads: “Our stay exceeded expectations even after seeing all of the amazing reviews. The property was peaceful and beautiful, and neighbors were extremely helpful and kind. The location is central to so many of our favorite neighborhoods in San Diego so everything was a quick drive. Incredibly clean space and helpful instructions were provided for all of the amenities. Would re-book in the future without a doubt!”

Calling all Game of Thrones fans: This guest favorite apartment in Dubrovnik features a large private terrace where guests can take in stunning views of the historic city and magical natural landscape that was the backdrop for many scenes of the show. I recently spent a week in Athens and had the pleasure of staying at a centrally located Airbnb within walking distance of the Acropolis—but this one in the heart of Plaka is an upgrade, for sure.

If you’re unfamiliar with the city, you should know that Plaka is where it’s at. The cobblestone streets, which lead right to the Acropolis and its famous museum, are dominated by pedestrians and lined with shops of every description. Head to Monastiraki Square (also within walking distance) for good eats and less expensive souvenir shops. I highly recommend the incredible Lebanese fare at Falafel Tou Psyrri, which is famous for its juicy falafel and served up the best shawarma I have ever had.

As for the rental itself, it has a well-equipped kitchen, a cute little balcony where you can enjoy a glass of wine or dinner alfresco, two spacious bedrooms, plus a clean and cozy living area. You’ll be wanting for nothing if you stay at this apartment, but you can cross-check that with the 100+ glowing five-star reviews.

If you’re planning a trip to the capital city, there’s no better time to visit than spring break, when the famous Cherry Blossom Festival is held in D.C. The beautiful pink blossoms are a major highlight, of course, but the festival also features numerous arts and cultural attractions.

This particular D.C. apartment is located on a quiet and charming tree-lined block on Capitol Hill, which features a cherry blossom tree of its own. The interior of the rental is oh-so cozy with exposed brick walls, two fireplaces, a gorgeous marble-lined bathroom, two upper-level bedrooms and a spacious, open-concept living room with an oversized couch that provides plenty of room to lounge. If you’re looking for ample comfort in the capital, this place fits the bill.
