Venus Williams Posts Extremely Rare Photo of Her Dad and the Family Resemblance Is Strong

We’ve been saying for a while now that strong genes run in the Williams family. (And we don't just mean their shared ability to rock a tennis court.) Seriously, have you seen the resemblance between Serena and her mini-mi, Olympia?!

As it turns out, Serena’s sister, Venus, is a mini-me herself—a mini-me of her father (and American tennis coach) Richard Williams. On Thursday, the 40-year-old athlete shared a rare pic of herself and her dad posing on the court. In the sweet snap, the father-daughter duo is all smiles (in color-coordinated outfits) with their arms around one another. “My father, the hero. He’s an @elevenbyvenus out of 10!” she captioned the post on Instagram.

And while the image received a ton of attention and admiration for Richard and Serena’s highly successful careers in the tennis world—one user even commented that Richard should “be in the Tennis Hall of Fame. As a coach, trailblazer and visionary”—many followers were quick to point out the uncanny resemblance between the two.

One user wrote, “Looking great you two. Great genes!!” And they’re not wrong. Clearly, Venus (and Serena, for that matter) has acquired much more than her dad’s love for the game. We’re not just talking about their fit physiques. Venus also seems to have inherited her dad’s smile and impressive bone structure. Strong genes aside, the 78-year-old looks absolutely incredible for his age.

Like father, like daughter applies in more ways than one when it comes to these two.
