Vans is making major strides in support of the autism community.
In honor of National Autism Awareness Month (April), the company has released its Autism Awareness Collection, which features sensory inclusive designs for children and toddlers. According to an official press release, Van’s new line of “ultra-comfortable” footwear was designed specifically with Autism Spectrum Disorder in mind. The result? Calming color palettes and design features that focus on the senses of touch, sign and sound, which can help children relax, concentrate and focus better.
The company also revealed that with this specific collection, Vans will donate a minimum of $100,000 of its proceeds to A.skate, an organization that invites children with autism to be a part of the social world through skateboarding.
The new line (which is available this month) features multiple sneakers and slip-on options. And it’s not only shoes. The collection also includes an assortment of short and long sleeve tees for kids that showcase graphics in the same color palette. Wow, we love this collection for so many (good) reasons.
