‘This Is Us’ Series Creator Explains Why There Was No New Episode

this is us delayed

If you were looking forward to tuning into This Is Us, we have some bad news: The popular NBC series is going on another hiatus.

Last night, many fans were surprised when they realized that there was no new episode of This Is Us. Series creator Dan Fogelman addressed the issue on Twitter and explained that production was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“No new episode of #ThisIsUs tonight,” he wrote. “Covid-related production delays in LA have forced us to delay a few weeks. But the next few are big ones, and we are close, so we hope you’ll hang in there with us. Sorry!”

Fans immediately expressed their frustration, especially since episode six ended on a cliffhanger. You know, with Kevin (Justin Hartley) driving to the hospital and seemingly getting into a car accident.

One person wrote, “Please tell us that Kevin’s ok though? Obviously, he is because we’ve seen him in 2030…but that ditch, that car, and he’s only been on lean chicken and water for weeks now so what about those muscles?! There’s no fat on him to keep warm!! Keep safe, we will wait!”

Another added, “I can’t help feel they would have been better aired consistently as it’s impacting the flow of the series for me. But these are the times we’re in.”

This Is Us is scheduled to return on Tuesday, February 2, at 9 p.m. on NBC. *Clears schedule*
