New ‘This Is Us’ Preview Teases Kevin’s Uncertain Future on the Show

Last night, This Is Us returned to NBC with another tearjerker episode. (Surprise, surprise.) Not only was the installment nothing like we expected, but it also confirmed that Kevin (Justin Hartley) is potentially in danger.

Here’s what you need to know: In season five, episode five of This Is Us, Kevin calls Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and explains that he’s driving to the hospital to be with Madison (Caitlin Thompson), who has gone into labor.

However, it’s unclear if Kevin actually makes it, since the preview for next week’s episode teases a car crash. Not only does Kevin’s vehicle appear to be totaled, but it’s also on fire…in the middle of the woods…with no help in sight.

Fans immediately blasted social media with theories about what’s going to happen. While some questioned Kevin’s future on the show, the rumors were later debunked, since Kevin has been featured in multiple flash-forward episodes. Phew!

Another theory is that Madison is somehow in trouble, which seems unlikely because Kevin had already mentioned she’s at the hospital. Still, the fact that Madison has yet to appear in a flash-forward episode is making fans wonder if the This Is Us writers are trying to make us think that Kevin is in trouble—when in reality, it’s Madison who’s in peril.
