ABC is settling our TV woes and working on a spin-off series of its hit sitcom The Middle, which ran for nine seasons before airing its final episode on May 22.
The network hasn’t revealed too much about the new show, but we do know it will focus on Sue Heck (Eden Sher), the socially awkward middle child of Frankie (Patricia Heaton) and Mike (Neil Flynn).
Although the spin-off is still in its early stages, the announcement couldn’t have come at a better time, considering there’s now a major gap in ABC’s programming due to the Roseanne controversy.
