There’s So Much Drama on ‘The Bachelor,’ ABC Is Adding an Extra Episode

If you thought last night’s episode of The Bachelor was dramatic (Chris Harrison’s words—not ours), you should know it’s only just beginning for Peter Weber.

ABC is airing two—we repeat, two—new episodes on two different nights next week, which means we have a legitimate excuse to cancel those plans we’ve been dreading.

First, The Bachelor will air episode five during its usual time slot on Monday, February 3, at 8 p.m. Then on Wednesday, February 5, the show will return for another two-hour installment at 8 p.m. The ABC series is expected to resume normal programming on Monday, February 10. (That’s a whole lot of Bachelor in one week.)

Why the extra episode? We have absolutely no idea. If we had to guess, we’d say there’s too much content to wait an entire week, so don’t be surprised if Monday night’s installment ends with a “To be continued…” placard.

The first episode will likely address the elephant in the room: Alayah, who returned after getting eliminated in episode three. Although Weber let her rejoin the show, last night’s installment ended on a cliffhanger after the contestants continued to spread rumors about the beauty queen.

What happens in the second episode is still unknown, though many believe it will feature Weber’s freak accident while filming on a golf course in Costa Rica. According to reports, the pilot tripped and fell while holding two cocktail glasses, resulting in 22 stitches and a trip to the hospital. (Which totally explains the ambulance footage in the promo for next week’s episodes.)

Leave it ABC to convince viewers that two hours per week of The Bachelor just isn’t enough.
