Taylor Swift's Music Video for 'Christmas Tree Farm' Is Here & It's Chock-Full of Home Videos

Taylor Swift enlisted her three cats to help make an important decision, and it resulted in a surprise holiday track.

The 29-year-old singer just dropped an all-new song, “Christmas Tree Farm,” and an accompanying music video.

The clip begins with black-and-white footage of Swift staring out the car window. When the beat picks up, it transitions to a series of home videos from when the singer lived on a Christmas tree farm as a child. (Get it?)

Oh, and did we mention the song’s lyrics are totally relatable?

Exhibit A: “My winter nights are taken up by static, stress and holiday shopping traffic.” Sounds awfully familiar, if you ask us.

We first learned about “Christmas Tree Farm” yesterday when Swift posted a video on her personal Instagram account, in which she explained that she recently wrote a new holiday track. The problem? She didn’t want to wait an entire year to release it.

The video shows Swift speaking directly into the camera and saying, “OK, I know this is pretty wild, but I’ve just written a Christmas song. I feel like it’s just weird to wait a year to put it out, so I don’t know what to do.”

Swift proceeds to seek advice from her three cats, who couldn’t care less about the singer’s decision.

She captioned the post, “When in doubt, ask the itty bitty pretty kitty committee. When they shun you with silence, ambivalence, and judgmental brush offs... just put the song out anyway. NEW XMAS SONG AND VIDEO (made from home videos) OUT TONIGHT #ChristmasTreeFarm.”

The news comes just four months after Swift released her seventh studio album Lover, which included tracks like “ME!,” “You Need to Calm Down,” “London Boy” and “I Forgot that You Existed.”

Merry Christmas to us.
