Everything You Need to Know About ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3

stranger things season 3 details1

The premiere of Stranger Things 3 is just days away. (Eight to be exact, but who’s counting?)

So, what’s in store for us in season three of the popular Netflix series? Here’s everything we know about the show’s third installment.

Season three will hit the streaming service on July 4. *Cue the fireworks*

It will consist of eight full-length episodes, which are titled “Suzie, Do You Copy?,” “The Mall Rats,” “The Case of the Missing Lifeguard,” “The Sauna Test,” “The Source,” “The Birthday,” “The Bite” and “The Battle of Starcourt.”

Who’s In It?

The entire original cast is expected to return, including Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), Noah Schnapp (Will), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Joe Keery (Steve), Sadie Sink (Max), Dacre Montgomery (Billy), David Harbour (Chief Hopper) and Winona Ryder (Joyce).

As for newcomers, Maya Thurman-Hawke—the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke—is joining the cast, along with Jake Busey (Storm Troopers) and Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride).

What’s It About?

Season three will feature another time jump and further explore the show’s young characters as they venture into their teen years. While the Mind Flayer-cum-shadow-monster will likely play a role in the next installment, the Duffer brothers revealed that they want season three to focus more on the characters’ personal growth.

Oh, and Lucas’s scene-stealing sister, Erica (Priah Ferguson), will get a more prominent role. (#Bless)

Anything New In Hawkins, Indiana?

While the teens normally hang out at the Palace Arcade, season three will introduce an all-new location: Starcourt Mall.

What About Love Interests?

David Harbour previously revealed that his character, Jim Hopper, will dive into romance in the show’s junior run.

“I think we’ll start to see him take more risks with these new languages of intimacy and vulnerability and maybe we’ll start to see that he has needs that he hasn’t expressed before,” he told TV Guide.

What’s The Current Monster Situation?

Although we have no doubt the new episodes will introduce an all-new villain, the final trailer for season three teased the biggest plot twist of all. Not only is the monster still in Hawkins, but it has also occupied a new host: Billy.
