‘Stranger Things’ Star Matthew Modine (AKA Papa) Will Play a *Very* Big Role in Millie Bobby Brown & Jake Bongiovi’s Wedding

Fans might have said goodbye to Dr. Martin Brenner aka “Papa” (played by Matthew Modine) in Stranger Things 4, but they have not seen the last of the 65-year-old actor.

In a new interview with Access Daily, Modine revealed that he will have a *very* big role in Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi’s wedding. While talking to the outlet, the California native shared that he’ll officiate his Stranger Things co-star’s nuptials to Bongiovi, who is the son of Jon Bon Jovi.

Modine went on to share how the idea came to be. “I have one of those licenses to get people married,” he explained to Access Daily. “Millie thought it’d be great, and then Jake said it would be a great idea, so I wrote the wedding vows and they loved what I wrote for them to join hands and to become husband and wife.”

The Stranger Things alum added, “It’s such a beautiful thing to be able to join two people in holy matrimony.”

Viewers were first introduced to Dr. Martin Brenner in the first season of Stranger Things. He was a government scientist who was in charge of​​ Project MKUltra, a study that turns kids into mind-wielding weapons to be used in war or conflict. He becomes somewhat of a father figure to test subject Eleven (Brown), hence why she calls him “Papa.”

Brown and Bongiovi announced their engagement in April 2023 on Instagram. Along with a black-and-white photo of the pair—with Brown wearing a very dazzling ring on that special finger—the Damsel actress wrote in the caption, “I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all [white heart emoji].”
