When Simone Biles isn't collecting gymnastics medals, she likes playing the part of supportive partner, and in her most recent Instagram post, she seemed to subtly pay tribute to her fiancé, Jonathan Owens.
The 25-year-old gold medalist shared a photo earlier this weekend, where she sported a top that said, “Houston.” This is not only the city near where Biles grew up, but also the city where her soon-to-be husband plays professional football. “Lost files,” Biles wrote in the caption.
While the crop top was not official team merch, the word “Houston” was printed in a steel blue—which is one of the squad's official colors—and the rest of the top was white (another one of the Texans’ colors). To match the top, Biles sported blue sweatpants and white-and-blue Nike Air Force sneakers.
The world-class athlete got her shirt courtesy of the brand Borrowed Vessel, which makes hand-crafted and custom designs. This is not the first time we've seen the gymnast in one of their tops. In 2021, she wore a spaghetti-strap shirt with a sparkly “36” on it (which is Owens's number on the Texans team, btw).
Biles is often showing her support for her fiancé on Instagram. Only a week ago, the athlete shared a photo of her and her beau walking while holding hands, and the caption read, “36, can you do sum for me [heart emoji].”
Back in October, Biles also posted a photo where she was sporting another article of clothing with Owens's number, courtesy of Distressed Merch, and she wrote, “My favorite day of the week: game day.”
Biles and Owens announced their engagement in February, having been together since August of 2020. The couple are planning to tie the knot in 2023.
