Apparently Serena Williams Has a Secret Side Job

Serena Williams is a professional tennis player, a mom, a fashion designer, a Super Bowl commercial actress and one of Meghan Markle’s best friends. But did you know that she’s also a badass investor?

Yesterday, the 37-year-old athlete announced that she’s been secretly investing in forward-thinking companies for the past five years. Williams posted a slideshow of photos on Instagram and revealed that she launched her very own company, Serena Ventures.

The first photo features a screenshot of the official Serena Ventures website, while the second pic shows the companies that Williams is currently partnering with—like Billie, Tonal, Olly, Coinbase, Masterclass, Daily Harvest, Lola, Propel and Little Spoon.

She captioned the post, “In 2014, (yes I know I can keep a secret) I launched Serena Ventures with the mission of giving opportunities to founders across an array of industries. Serena Ventures invests in companies that embrace diverse leadership, individual empowerment, creativity and opportunity. Slide right to see a few brands in our portfolio. We have so many exciting things coming up! Learn more at serenaventures.com. Link in bio.”

While the partnerships come with an investment (read: $$$), Williams wants to give small businesses the “opportunity to be heard.”

“As we grow, we hope to mentor young founders and take burgeoning entrepreneurs to the next level,” the official website reads. “Serena Ventures extends relationships, encourages collaboration among portfolio companies, and expands partnership opportunities across my vast network.”

We’ll have whatever Williams is having.
