Serena Williams had quite the humorous spotting partner while she was working out in the gym this weekend—her 6-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian.
The 42-year-old tennis superstar captured an image where she's seen lying on the floor in the midst of an ab workout, while her daughter intently watches her from behind. “Olympia watching me try to get my ab muscles working again,” Williams wrote. “Here comes fitness!”
Due to the angle of the photo, Olympia’s head directly covers her mom’s face, which caused some followers to get confused upon first glance.
“I know I’m not the only one that was looking for Olympia?” One user wrote, along with a series of laughing emojis. “Cool pic. Had to look twice to figure it out,” another added.
The Olympic gold medalist’s husband, Alexis Ohanian Sr., 40, chimed in as well, writing, “Love this photo.”
This pic comes a mere two months after Williams gave birth to her second daughter, Adira River Ohanian, on August 22.
Adira’s arrival was announced by her dad on Instagram, who wrote: “Welcome, Adira River Ohanian. I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you've now given me another incomparable gift — you're the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter. I'll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
A year prior, in August 2022, the Grand Slam champ announced that she was stepping away from tennis, saying “I have to focus on being a mom, my spiritual goals and finally discovering a different, but just exciting Serena.” However in October of that same year, she clarified that she is not officially “retired” (and clearly she can't stay away from the gym).
