Selena Gomez just shared a rare bikini photo on social media, and her inspiring message will leave you shouting, Yaaasss!
Yesterday, the “Lose You to Love Me” singer, 28, posted a never-before-seen picture on Instagram, featuring herself posing in the backyard in a light blue bathing suit. In the caption, Gomez explained that she wasn’t always comfortable showing her scars from her 2017 kidney transplant. However, that all changed when she learned to accept her body (flaws included.)
In the pic, Gomez is popping her leg as she poses with her arms in the air. The actress is flaunting her inner thigh scar, and we couldn’t be prouder.
She wrote, “When I got my kidney transplant, I remember it being very difficult at first showing my scar. I didn’t want it to be in photos, so I wore things that would cover it up. Now, more than ever, I feel confident in who I am and what I went through...and I’m proud of that.”
The “Rare” singer went on to thank her friend, Theresa Mingus, who founded the swimsuit brand she’s wearing (La’Mariette). “T—Congratulations on what you’re doing for women, launching @lamariette whose message is just that…all bodies are beautiful,” she added.
Gomez is donning the Selena One-Piece (fitting) in the color “play date.” The swimsuit retails for $120 and comes in a variety of colors, including spiked lemonade (lime green), moonlight prowl (animal print) and after dark (black).
