Royal News Roundup: Meghan & Harry’s Instagram Farewell, Kate Middleton’s Missing Rings & More

Here, all the royal news you need to know for the week of April 2, 2020.

  • On Sunday, Kate Middleton and Prince William posted a statement addressing the issue of mental health during this time of social distancing. And we noticed the 38-year-old Duchess of Cambridge opted not to wear her iconic engagement ring and infinity band in the photograph.

  • Early this week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a message of thanks to their 11.3 million followers on Instagram and said goodbye. They shared an image that included their official royal cipher and read, “Thank you to this community—for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world.” They simply signed it “Harry & Meghan.”

  • The United States government revealed that they would not be paying for Meghan and Harry’s security (referencing the Sussexes’ recent move to California). But, according to a spokesperson for the duo, they already have their security taken care of. “Privately funded security arrangements have been made.”
