Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe Reunited to Celebrate Their Son Deacon's 18th Birthday

It's a big day for Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe's son, Deacon.

The aspiring producer celebrated his eighteenth birthday this weekend, and it was obviously a big moment for the family because the special occasion reunited his two Hollywood parents.

Although Witherspoon and Phillippe amicably split back in 2006, they were seen happily smiling and posing with their son in a series of photos shared to Instagram. The trio were captured sitting in front of a tiered birthday cake in a series of photos Phillippe shared to his Instagram, writing, “Happy 18th birthday to our gorgeous, smart, talented, and caring son. You are a true light in this world and are so loved by all who know you. We are lucky to be your mom and dad. Love you, pup.”

He also tagged Witherspoon in the caption, adding a note at the end which said, “(I’d say we did pretty good @reesewitherspoon).”

Witherspoon shared one of these family shots to her Instagram Story, along with a caption that said, “We love you, Deacon! You make us so proud!”

The pair also share a daughter together, Ava (22), while Witherspoon has another son named Tennessee (9) from her current marriage to Jim Toth.

In addition to her Story, Witherspoon made her own gushing post about her oldest son, which included some personal details about the birthday boy. She said, “How did this happen?!! @deaconphillippe is 18?!! One day he was trading Pokémon cards, singing Bruno Mars songs, and playing American Ninja Warrior in the backyard. The next day, he is taller than me, cooking the family steaks on the grill and making his own music with his best friends.”

The Legally Blonde actress closed by saying, “My heart is bursting with pride about the young man he is becoming. Happy 18th Birthday Deacon! I love you to the moon around the sun and all the stars.”

Deacon even made his own post, which offered his followers an intimate glimpse at his celebratory weekend. In the caption he simply said, “18.”
