Reese Witherspoon Posts a Rare Throwback of Her Mom & the Resemblance Is Uncanny

If you thought that Reese Witherspoon's children are the spitting image of their mom, just wait until you see this photo of Witherspoon's mother, Betty.

The Morning Show actress has posted a number of pics with her mom in the past, but she just recently shared some more snaps in honor of the matriarch's birthday. This new slideshow includes never-before-seen shots of the pair, as well as a rare throwback of Betty.

The post begins with a photo we saw back in May, when Witherspoon posted a loving tribute to her mom on Mother's Day. This image is followed by one of Betty hanging out with horses, as well as shots of Witherspoon and her mother laughing and hanging out in restaurants and stores together.

But it's the last image that really takes the cake. In this pic, we see an old portrait of Betty, where she sports a black turtleneck and a strand of pearls, seemingly posing for a school portrait. While Betty's age is unclear in the photo, we can't get over how much young Betty looks like Reese. The close relationship between the two was evident in Witherspoon's caption, where she said, “Today I am celebrating! It’s Betty’s birthday.. my wonderful mama. I feel so lucky to have her Joy, Happiness and Wisdom in my life. She always told me to dream BIG, laugh EVERYDAY, be Creative whenever you can, enjoy every flower you see and be of service to OTHERS in this life. She has wiped my tears and cheered every success. Even though I will never be able to tell her how much I love her, I try my best everyday. I love you, Mom!”

It's become something of a tradition for the actress to post a throwback on her mother's birthday. Last August, she shared another rare snap of Betty during her time as a nurse. Witherspoon also offered a little background on her mother's career, saying, “I love this photo of her as a young nurse just starting out... and with a great nurse hat might I add. Shout out to all the nurses out there! She also taught nursing for 30 years at @tennstateu... I always wonder how many of her nursing students are out in the world helping people. Mom always said a life of serving others is the best life to have. I agree. Love you Mom! Have the best Birthday! I will be there to hug you so soon!”
