Reese Witherspoon Gets Revenge on Meryl Streep After Deleted ‘BLL’ Scene

We were understandably disappointed when HBO cut out the Big Little Lies scene featuring Reese Witherspoon (Madeline) throwing an ice cream cone at Meryl Streep (Mary Louise), but fans can finally get a glimpse of the iconic moment thanks to Ellen DeGeneres.

On a recent episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the daytime host gave Witherspoon a chance to recreate the deleted scene in a brand-new game called “Big Little Scoops.”

Basically, the goal is to throw as many ice creams as possible at a series of targets featuring Streep’s face. However, there’s a catch. Witherspoon must avoid her own cardboard cut-out, which is attached to a helmet.

“I got one! I got one!” the actress screams after nailing Meryl’s face.

While she manages to steer clear of her own target, she does manage to hit the helmet-wearing handler directly in the face, so we’ll consider it a win. (For Witherspoon, at least.)

The game is in response to the aforementioned deleted BLL scene. It all started earlier this year when photos surfaced from the set of the popular HBO series, showing Witherspoon hurling an ice cream cone at Streep. Fans were thrilled to watch it all play out on the small screen, but that all changed when the network announced that the iconic scene didn’t make the final cut.

While Madeline didn’t get her revenge, it’s safe to say that Witherspoon sealed the deal.
