Former ‘Bachelorette’ Rachel Lindsay Weighs in on That Peter Weber ‘Bachelor’ Producer Theory

In case you missed it, there’s a theory floating around the internet that Peter Weber doesn’t choose a contestant on the Bachelor in the final rose ceremony but a producer from the series instead. (Take a moment to process that.) There are several photos of producer Julie LaPlaca together with his family on New Year’s Eve and former Bachelorette Hannah Brown even commented on one pic saying that she approves. But is there any truth to this theory?

ABC finally responded to the speculation this week, but executive Rob Mills refused to confirm or deny the theory, leaving Bachelor fans wondering who Weber ends up with in the long run.

Extra decided to go straight to someone who would know and organized a Facetime call between former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay and correspondent Billy Bush. When Bush asked the newly married Lindsay if she thinks Weber, 28, and LaPlaca are together, she said, “No, absolutely not. What people have to understand is these producers are your best friends. This is who you spend the most time with. There is no way.”

Still, it’s plausible that Weber and LaPlaca started with a friendship and it morphed into a romance. That’s definitely something that happens in real-life relationships that aren’t televised to the masses. Or, could we be grasping at straws because there’s no one left on this season of The Bachelor that really has a strong bond with Weber that could eventually lead to marriage? Maybe it’s a little bit of both, but we definitely would have preferred that Bush Facetimed with Brown, who worked with LaPlaca during The Bachelorette.

Hannah, if you’re reading this, hit a girl up.
