Ever since Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan welcomed his first child, he has documented every moment on social media. From wearing matching onesies to bringing the baby to work, the royal’s feed is filled with parenting content. I can only hope that Princess Sofia of Sweden follows in his footsteps.

This week, the Swedish royal family revealed that Princess Sofia and her husband, Prince Carl Philip, have welcomed their fourth child. Although they didn’t publicly reveal the newborn’s name, they did confirm it’s a girl.

Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip are also parents to three sons, Prince Alexander, 8, Prince Gabriel, 7, and Prince Julian, 3. The new baby will inherit a princess title and will join the Swedish line of succession in the eighth spot behind her brothers. (FYI, Prince Carl Philip is currently fourth in line to the throne.)

"Today, Friday 7th February at 1.10 p.m., HRH Princess Sofia gave birth to a daughter at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm,” the announcement read. “The baby weighs 3645 grams and is 49 centimetres long. Prince Carl Philip was present at Danderyd Hospital throughout the birth.”

Princess Sofia announced her pregnancy back in September 2024 by releasing an official statement. It read, “Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are very happy to announce that the Princess is expecting the couple's fourth child. Princess Sofia is doing well and the birth is expected in February 2025. No changes are expected in Princess Sofia's official program during the autumn.”

Congratulations to the growing family!
