Princess Beatrice had a big night last night. So, naturally, she dressed for the occasion.
The 30-year-old Princess of York made her red carpet debut with new boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at the 2019 National Portrait Gala in London wearing a luxe dress that cost nearly $10,000. Casual.
The princess opted for a burgundy ruffled velvet midi dress from Alaïa ($9,350). The rather costly frock features a fitted bodice with a collar and buttons down the front, as well as delicate embroidery, a subtle black circle and diamond print and a red patterned belt that cinches at the waist.
Beatrice made the figure-flattering dress even more cool-weather appropriate with black tights and blue moody crushed-velvet Mary Jane platforms. She accentuated the effortless high-fashion look with large, sleek curls, dewy face makeup, smoky eyes and pink glossed lips. Overall, it was a Princess Beatrice look if we’ve ever seen one.
The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson kept her accessories subtle, so her dress could do the talking. She carried a simple black crocodile-skin clutch and a black wrap to keep her warm. Minimalist to a tee, she wore no jewelry other than a yellow gold “Juste un Clou” bracelet ($3,050).
Meanwhile, her new beau went the classic route in a black tuxedo with a bowtie and white pocket square, which he accessorized with black patent-leather Christian Louboutin dress shoes.
You know what they say, a couple that dresses well together, stays together…That’s how that goes, right?
