Prince William’s daughter Charlotte has a brand new hobby occupying her time.

Speaking with Olympic middle-distance runner, Keely Hodgkinson, during her investiture at Windsor Castle, the royal apparently told the 2024 Sports Personality of the Year that Princess Charlotte is developing a growing interest in running.

After the ceremony, which saw Hodgkinson being made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), the gold medalist spoke briefly with the PA news agency, telling the publication: “The prince told me his daughter is doing the 400m at the minute and the hurdles and that she did watch me in Paris. He told me that he remembers me winning and that he wished he could be there to see it himself.”

Charlotte’s love of sports has been well documented over the years. In July 2024, she enthusiastically attended the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club alongside her parents, where she was “laser focused” throughout the duration of the match. In fact, she was even spotted doing a face-palm gesture just like her sports loving dad after a particular moment that didn’t go her team’s way.

This appearance came just one day after Prince William attended the Euro 2024 soccer finals alongside his son, Prince George, at Olympiastadion in Berlin, where he gave almost identical reactions to his daughter. He also gave England a standing ovation after their first goal, which Charlotte did over at the Wimbledon match.

With Princess Charlotte being an avid athlete and sports lover, it’s only a matter of time before she’s winning medals of her own.
