I Compared Prince William & Prince Harry's Recent Body Language and Noticed Some Striking Similarities

They certainly have the same DNA

I'm beginning to see that Prince William and Prince Harry have more in common than I thought. For one, they have a shared passion for philanthropy—from William's homelessness initiative to Prince Harry's partnership with WellChild. I’ve also noticed their similar style of non-verbal communication. (Fun fact: they're pretty big on hand gestures.) And now, after taking a close look at their body language at recent outings, I've spotted even more striking similarities between the two.

The royal brothers both went to sports games within the last few weeks, with Harry attending a wheelchair basketball match in Vancouver, British Columbia for the Invictus Games and Prince William attending the UEFA Champions League in Monaco. I observed a series of pics that captured the royals reacting throughout the game, and I couldn't help but notice that their gestures were identical. Take, for instance, the below images.

Both Prince William and Prince Harry are practically on the edge of their seats as they look on intently at the match—and their hands are clasped in a similar fashion, indicating that they're totally absorbed by the games.

In yet another pair of photos, I noticed that both royals have a tendency to bring their hands to their jaw as they follow the competition.

In this case, Harry's expression looks a bit more positive and laid-back while William's is more concerned, but there's no denying that their gestures mirror each other.

Although the siblings are miles apart and currently at odds—or at least publicly—their body language certainly doesn't lie. From their concentrated facial expressions and hand gestures to the subtle way they lean in towards the action, it's clear that both men are quite passionate about sports and can easily let their guards down as they observe these intense matches.

At the opening ceremony of this year's Invictus Games, Prince Harry delivered an encouraging speech to all the athletes and said, "The Games were born more than a decade ago from a promise that I made to myself—a promise to uphold my obligation, my sacred obligation after my own decade and privilege of military service—to do whatever I could to help my fellow brothers and sisters heal and to champion everything that we stand for. Over the past decade, I've lost count of the times that we've heard you tell us that the Invictus Games 'saved you.'"

He continued, "Respectfully, I disagree. Invictus didn't save you. You saved yourself. It was you who pushed through the doubt and despair. You who summited your own mountain and brought us along with you. It was you who kept going even when you didn’t think you had any more to give. We didn’t do that. You did. The Games simply reveal what is already within you."
