It’s a milestone day for Prince William and Kate Middleton: it's the Prince and Princess of Wales's 14th wedding anniversary. The royal couple tied the knot on April 29, 2011, in a widely watched ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Now, more than a decade later, they’re commemorating the occasion not with a glamorous gala, but with a meaningful trip and a generous gesture.

In a move that blends romance, reflection and community service, William and Kate have returned to the place where their love story first began—Scotland. The country holds special significance for the couple, who met as students at the University of St Andrews. This week, they’re visiting an island off Scotland’s northwest coast as part of a two-day trip that kicked off today.

Alongside the visit, the couple made a major announcement through their Royal Foundation’s Community Impact Programme. According to GB News, the initiative will provide grants to support the renovation of two community spaces: Aros Hall in Tobermory and Pennyghael Community Hall in the Ross of Mull.

At Aros Hall, the existing “Rainydays” play area will be upgraded with a new soft play zone and other improvements. Pennyghael Community Hall will undergo essential roof repairs and upgrades to its indoor communal areas.

During their time on the Isle of Mull, the Prince and Princess are also scheduled to engage with local residents through various community events. Afterward, the couple plans to spend the night in a holiday cottage on the island, Hello! reports.

On social media, the royals shared a video capturing the serene beauty and vibrant spirit of the Inner Hebrides.

“Welcome to the Inner Hebrides,” the caption read. “From exploring how islanders are protecting their natural world, to meeting young families who are shaping the future of rural life, we’re excited for an inspiring two days here celebrating the power of community and connection.”

Happy Anniversary, Will and Kate.
