A Classmate of Prince William & Kate Middleton Says the Couple Had a ‘Natural’ Connection

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s love story is a real-life fairytale. Luckily, we no longer have to wish we were a fly on the wall during the early stages of their relationship, because someone who was actually there just provided us with some details.

If you didn’t know, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met as sophomores at the University of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. And now, a classmate revealed what it was like to see their blossoming romance.

“Whenever Kate was in the room, Will was obviously paying attention to her," Laura Warshauer told People for its William & Kate: 10 Joyous Years edition. "When we'd be sitting at lunch in the dining hall and the two of them would be talking, it was amazing to see how natural it was, how they had so much to say to each other. Looking back, there were all these small moments—certainly moments where I was like, 'Wow, this could really be something.'"

All of this took place after they met while Middleton was modeling in a charity fashion show, and William paid £200—about $360—to sit in the front row (we’re serious). Although the Duke of Cambridge was immediately interested in the future Duchess, she was going steady with someone else. The duchess eventually ended that relationship and started anew with the prince, and they have been inseparable ever since (minus one quick breakup).

Laura, if you’re reading this, we need more details about this university romance ASAP (and maybe some pics if you have them).
