Prince Louis Took a Page from George’s Fashion Playbook with His Garden Outfit—and Here’s Where You Can Get It

Kate Middleton, amateur photographer herself, knows a photo op when she sees it. She’s also queen of the fashion repeat, which is why—ahead of giving a public tour of her RHS Back to Nature Garden, a part of the Chelsea Flower Show—she chose to dress Prince Louis in an outfit that looked royally familiar. Why? As it turns out, it was once worn by Louis’s big brother, Prince George (pictured below).

Yep, we’d recognize that red and white pinstripe short—actually a pair of overalls from Spanish brand Neck & Neck—from a mile away. Prince George famously wore them not once, but twice—the first time on a royal tour to Australia with his mum and dad when he was eight months old, then again to a polo match at 11 months when he was just learning to walk.

Still, Kate opted to switch things up a bit on Louis (above), pairing the dungarees with a royal blue cardigan sweater, so they actually looked more like a new pair of shorts. (Solid style lesson for re-purposing hand-me-downs—thanks, Kate!)

While the overalls themselves are no longer available, there is a very similar style here from the same brand available for $40.

Now, the questions of the hour: Will Prince Louis give George a run for his money in the fashion department? And how does fashion icon George feel about his little bro’s copycat style? Oh, to be a fly on the wall of the Kensington Palace nursery.
