Prince Harry Will Take Paternity Leave, So Cue the Diaper Duty

This just in: Prince Harry is preparing to drop everything when Baby Sussex arrives.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Dickie Arbiter—Queen Elizabeth’s former press spokesman—revealed that he has no doubt the 34-year-old prince will take paternity leave when his wife, Meghan Markle, gives birth.

“It’s a modern thing,” he said. “Prince William did it for his children and Harry’s going to do it for his, when his child is born. I mean, the older generation didn’t do it. The older generation just got on with it. But it’s a new thing. People do it, William did it and Harry is going to do it.”

Although we don’t know where the duchess, 37, will give birth, all signs point to Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey county, which is a 30-minute drive away from the couple’s new home at Frogmore Cottage in Berkshire, England.

The news might come as a surprise to some royal aficionados, considering all three of Kate Middleton’s children—Prince George (5), Princess Charlotte (3) and Prince Louis (10 months)—were born at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London.

Baby Sussex is the seventh in line to the throne behind Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis and Prince Harry.

Here’s hoping the soon-to-be dad gets plenty of sleep before his paternity leave begins.
