Kensington Palace Reveals Video of Prince Charles Getting Emotional About Prince William

Prince Charles got all sorts of emotional after overhearing his son, Prince William, discuss his future role as king.

In a clip from the new ITV docuseries Prince Charles: Inside the Duchy of Cornwall, Prince Charles reveals that he became overcome with emotion when he saw footage of Prince William talking about inheriting the duchy one day.

“I saw it, and I couldn’t believe it. I was deeply touched and moved by what he said,” Prince Charles explained.

So, what exactly did Prince William say? The conversation took place between Mervyn Keeling and the 37-year-old royal, who revealed that his family will always be at the forefront.

“I think it’s important, Mervyn, about the family angle. I really do,” Prince William said. “I’ve started to think about how I will inherit the Duchy one day and what I do.” The royal went on to reference his three children with Kate Middleton: Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (1).

Prince Charles admitted that his son’s response makes it all worth it. “Frankly, it reduced me to tears. It did, really,” he continued. “Because I suddenly thought, well, just hearing that from him has made all the last 50 years worthwhile.”

We’re not crying, you’re crying.
