Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles Wore This Rare Accessory at the Royal Cornwall Show

We always have our eyes on the British royals to see what fashion they pull out for all their events, so we were quick to notice when Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles slipped on an accessory that we don't get to see too often on royals: sunglasses.

During their attendance at The Royal Cornwall Show in Wadebridge, the duo were spotted each sporting a pair of shades, which was shared in a new post that was made to the Clarence House Instagram account. Prince Charles opted for a pair of light brown frames, while the Duchess of Cornwall chose circular sunglasses with a tortoiseshell design around the edges.

While this isn't the first time we've seen this pair wearing sunglasses, it's rare to see a British royal put on shades, especially at a public event.

In the case of Queen Elizabeth II, this is especially rare, and as USA Today has pointed out, Her Royal Majesty previously explained why she rarely dons sunglasses, saying, “I have to be seen to be believed.”

However, even the queen has to wear shades sometimes, like back in 2018, when she had minor eye surgery to treat a cataract and was then spotted at a number of events wearing sunglasses.

We certainly can't blame the royals for needing a little bit of extra protection. However, it's also important to point out that traditionally, it is considered a sign of etiquette to take off your sunglasses when meeting the queen so that you can make eye contact.

We'll be keeping a look out for more shade-y looks (sorry, we had to) from the royals.
