Just when we thought George and Amal Clooney were the best human beings, like, ever, Oprah Winfrey swooped in to say, “Remember me?”
Winfrey just announced that she will match the Clooneys’ $500,000 donation to March for Our Lives, a gun safety march organized by the students of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
The media mogul broke the news on Twitter, writing, “George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives.’ These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.”
Earlier today, George released a statement announcing that he and Amal made a hefty donation in the name of their 8-month-old twins, Ella and Alexander, to the gun safety march in honor of the victims of last Wednesday’s deadly shooting.
