We all know Niecy Nash is a talented and versatile actor, but as it turns out, she also has a whole other host of skills she’s picked up over the years. Speaking with the 50-year-old Uncorked star about her forthcoming Netflix movie, we learned that she’s a total Jack(lyn) of all trades.
“I can do a full set of acrylic nails, I can take your blood pressure and your temperature, I can talk to you about different sorts of wine and different sorts of barbecue,” Nash casually mentioned. “By the time I get down to the end of it, I’m going to know a little bit about everything.” Wait, how?!
As it turns out, Nash really commits to each role she takes on. So when she played a nurse in Getting On, she followed a nurse around for a full shift and “went to school to put in an IV.” But her career education didn’t stop there. In preparing for Claws, she and the rest of the cast even went to nail technician school.
“I’m a girl who knows how to do acrylics,” she shared. “I’ve been getting my nails done since I was 15 and I’m a Pisces, so we pay attention to everything. If all the nail salons in the world closed, the cast of Claws could take care of everybody.” Those skills are probably coming in very useful during this period of social distancing.
