Game of Thrones certainly isn't a Nicholas Sparks novel, but the end of season seven definitely left us screaming, “It wasn’t over, it still isn’t over,” à la Ryan Gosling. Thankfully, HBO just released a new GoT behind-the-scenes series to calm our tender nerves.
The Game Revealed is a seven-part series that peels back the curtain on some of season seven’s most pivotal scenes. The show offers enough exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and cast interviews to tide us over (maybe) until season eight's arrival many, many moons from now.
The first episode, aptly titled “Part 1,” focuses on the making of season seven, episode one, “Dragonstone.” In it, we learn how the grand hall of Dragonstone was constructed and that Samwell Tarly’s (John Bradley-West) stomach-churning chamber pot maester-training montage took three days to film. Gross. “Part 1” also dives into how Arya transforms into her many creepy faces and how living, breathing humans morph into White Walkers (and wights). Hint: It involves lots of makeup and CGI.
Episode one of The Game Revealed is now available for free on Facebook and YouTube. The remaining six episodes are available only to those with an HBO subscription, and a new episode drops every Monday. Happy viewing, fellow Thronies!
