In The Importance of Being Earnest, Lady Augusta Bracknell famously says, “To speak frankly, I am not in favour of long engagements. They give people the opportunity of finding out each other's character before marriage, which I think is never advisable.” Clearly, this wasn't true for Michelle Yeoh, 60, and Jean Todt, 77, who just got married after a 6992-day engagement.

The news of the couple's long-awaited nuptials was revealed thanks to an Instagram post from Brazilian racing driver Felipe Massa, who was in attendance at the wedding. (FYI: The groom is a former rally co-driver and he was the ninth president of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, which governs auto racing events, like Formula One.)
In his caption, Massa wrote, “Happy marriage #JeanTodt & #michelleyeoh love you so much.”
As revealed in the first slide, Yeoh and Todt tied the knot on July 27 in Geneva, Switzerland, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The location made perfect sense, given that the pair have a gorgeous house there that they've held since 2019.
The stationery in Massa's first slide detailed Yeoh and Todt's love story. It read, “We met in Shanghai on 4th June 2004. On 26th July 2004, J.T. proposed to marry M.Y. and she said YES! Today after 6992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!”
Massa's carousel featured pics of other guests at the ceremony, as well as selfies he took with the happy couple. Oh, and there were also snaps of one other special guest: Yeoh's Academy Award. (We wonder if it was the cake topper?)
Yep, the statuette, which Yeoh won for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once, was featured in a number of the photos. With her win in 2022, Yeoh made history, becoming the first Asian actress to win the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
Congrats to Michelle and Jean!
