Williams also opened up about getting pregnant during the pandemic. "It was a reminder that life goes on," she told Variety. "The world we brought a baby into is not the world we thought we were bringing a baby into, but the baby is ignorant of that. He experiences the unmitigated joy of discovery and the happiness of a loving home."
She continued, "There's nothing that makes you committed to a better world than raising a great kid. It's the ultimate creative act. The most ecstatic moments of life and art are the transcendent ones. Having children is like that."
This will be Williams's second child with her husband, Thomas Kail. The couple quietly welcomed their son, Hart, in 2020, and Williams also has a 16-year-old daughter, Matilda, from her relationship with late actor Heath Ledger.
The Blue Valentine actress has been pretty outspoken about her kids and parenting. In fact, when she appeared on Live With Kelly and Ryan, she talked about her relationship with Matilda, which, thankfully, hasn't gone south. She said, “Every morning we wake up and I look to see if the transformation has happened, and if it’s turned into the next level that I keep hearing about, but so far, we’re not there yet.”
We imagine we'll hear plenty more stories once baby number three arrives.
