Anyone who grew up in the late ’90s vividly remembers actress Melissa Joan Hart portraying Sabrina Spellman in the beloved television series, Sabrina the Teenage Witch. In the live-action show (inspired by the popular ’60s comic-book), fans watched Sabrina navigate her teen years while learning how to use her magical powers with the help of her two aunts.

This year will mark twenty years since the series ended, so PureWow sat down with Hart to discuss Sabrina the Teenage Witch (in addition to her partnership with CycleBar and American Heart Association.)

Hart confirmed that she has so many fond memories from filming the show. But, if she ever had a chance to revisit the series for a potential revival, the 46-year-old alum revealed that she wants to play a different character: Salem.

Hart told PureWow, “I’ve always been slightly jealous of Salem because everyone always thinks he’s so funny and cute. So maybe I can play Salem in the new version.”

The Sabrina the Teenage Witch star also revealed that she loved working with such a  group of “fantastic” people. When asked about some of her fondest memories, she said, “Honestly, it was the people I worked with that became my very best friends. We had an incredible crew, cast and some fantastic guest stars and lots of laughs.”

The Clarissa Explains It All star added, “Most especially, we filmed an episode in Disneyworld, and the whole crew came, and we had a blast.”

Hart played the titular character for a total of seven seasons until the show came to an end in April 2003. The beloved comic book series spawned another show adaptation on Netflix, titled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which offered a darker take on the classic tale. Unfortunately, the series was canceled after four seasons.

For the month of February, Hart partnered with CycleBar (the world’s largest indoor cycling franchise) and American Heart Association (AHA) to promote the importance of heart health. While talking about the partnership, the Melissa and Joey star discussed the importance of exercising to maintain a healthy heart.

“We are needed by our families, friends, neighbors and colleagues. And that means we have to take care of ourselves so we can be there for everyone that needs us. And that starts with the heart health and being our best physically,” she told PureWow.
