Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Return to NYC for First Time Since Near-Devastating Car Chase

PureWow’s Senior Director of Special Projects & Royals (and Royally Obsessed podcast co-host) Rachel Bowie shared that Markle and Harry’s trip to NYC will be a “monumental” occasion. She explained, “What’s significant here is that it’s a chance for them to set the stage for the work that’s to come from their foundation.”

In case you didn’t know, this will be the first time the couple has stepped foot together in New York City since they were involved in a “near-devastating car chase” involving paparazzi back in May. Bowie continued, “Of course, much of the focus will be on the fact that this is their first trip back to NYC following the traumatic car chase they experienced, [where the couple attended] the Women of Vision Awards.”

But, Bowie believes this trip will certainly be one to remember. “I love that this is the perfect intersection of topics for them—mental health, parenting and how to protect our kids within the toxic culture that exists online,” she revealed. “I’m excited to see what they have to say!”

Earlier this year, the pair traveled to New York City to attend the 2023 Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Awards. At the awards ceremony, Markle received a great honor and delivered a powerful speech onstage.

Later that night, Markle, her mom and Prince Harry were unfortunately involved in a car chase involving the paparazzi. Thankfully, no one was injured.
