On the 2025 Golden Globes red carpet, actress and comedian Mindy Kaling praised Meghan Markle's culinary skills when asked about her cameo on Netflix's With Love, Meghan, noting that whenever she hangs out with the duchess, she "knows the food is going to be good." I was immediately sold when I spotted her mouth-watering creations on the show, from skillet spaghetti to focaccia. However, it turns out Markle isn't the only Sussex who knows their way around the kitchen.

On the fifth episode of the eight-part series, the 43-year-old royal invited her pal Kelly McKee Zajfen to prepare a meal, and Zajfen mentioned that Markle's husband, Prince Harry, is “a great cook.” In response, Markle agreed and said, "He is. "

In addition, the royal revealed that he's especially good at making a specific meal. She continued, “He made great scrambled eggs the other morning. He makes a great breakfast.”

FYI, Kaling also mentioned the prince's cooking talents during her red carpet interview at the Golden Globes. Although he didn't prepare food for her during her visit, she said, “I heard he’s actually a pretty good cook [and he] knows his way around a kitchen.”

In the same episode, Markle opened up about wanting her children, Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3) to follow in her footsteps when it comes to cooking meals. She said, “It's so much a part of what I want them to learn and have these great formative memories of being there with me. [They would say,] 'Oh, mama used to make this!'”

Similar to Harry, Markle also has a knack for preparing breakfast foods. In another episode of the series, she revealed it's her bacon that “brings my husband and three dogs to the kitchen—not my perfume.” She added, "I wake up every morning and take a lot of pride in making breakfast for my family."

The duchess whips up a variety of her recipes throughout the Netflix series, including salt-baked fish, pasta salad, carrot top pesto and floral cookies. And while her unique creations have received mixed reviews, the show's director, Michael Steed, only had good things to say about Markle's cooking abilities.

He told People, “Her cooking is pretty spot-on. She’s not a chef, and it’s definitely not meant to make it seem like she is, but there’s just a love of cooking that is palpable."

He added, "For me, imperfection is a wonderful thing. It was fun watching her trying to get used to the kitchen, because it's not her place, so we didn't hide that fact, and she's kind of walking and looking for things. I really wanted to embrace and celebrate all of the mistakes and mess and all that good stuff."
