The couple's photographer, Misan Harriman, shared a sweet black and white photo of the couple, where Markle can be seen showing off her baby bump. He wrote, "Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!"
In the photo, a barefoot Harry sits in the grass and smiles down at his wife.
The news comes a few months after Markle opened up about suffering a miscarriage in July. In a vulnerable New York Times essay, she wrote, "After changing his diaper, I felt a sharp cramp. I dropped to the floor with him in my arms, humming a lullaby to keep us both calm, the cheerful tune a stark contrast to my sense that something was not right. I knew, as I clutched my firstborn child, that I was losing my second."
She continued, "Hours later, I lay in a hospital bed, holding my husband’s hand. I felt the clamminess of his palm and kissed his knuckles, wet from both our tears. Staring at the cold white walls, my eyes glazed over. I tried to imagine how we’d heal."
Thankfully, the family of three is now celebrating their newest addition (and it totally explains why Meghan and Harry were practically glowing in their latest virtual appearance). Congrats again to the happy couple!
