You Can Now Own the Same Hat that Both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Have Worn

One thing's for certain: The royals love hats.

They wear fascinators (which, if we're being technical, is actually very different from a hat in that it is smaller and typically without a crown or brim) to nearly every fancy royal event they attend. And, boy, are no two lids equal. From flying-saucer inspired skimmers to feather-covered fascinators, there seems to be an unspoken competition among the royal family to see who can debut the most flattering style. So when we saw Kate Middleton's choice of topper at yesterday's Royal Ascot races, we thought it looked familiar...

That's because the Duchess of Cambridge played copycat and debuted a Philip Treacy hat that we've seen before and is totally *out of this world* (and, by that, we mean it reminds us of an extraterrestrial UFO). Except, Middleton changed it up by adding her own little detail of big blue flowers to coordinate with her cornflower blue Elie Saab sheer dress

Meghan Markle has also worn the same design, twice. In May 2018, the Duchess of Sussex wore a pink version of the hat to Prince Charles's 70th birthday celebrations, her first appearance after her and Prince Harry's royal wedding. The following month, she wore the same hat to her first Trooping the Colour.

Famed milliner to the royals Philip Treacy is selling a nearly identical version (in a chic and summer-ready black-and-white combo) online. And now we're wondering what events we have coming up where it would be socially acceptable to wear such a headpiece.

Yep, for a cool grand (and then some), you, too, can make like a duchess and ~fascinate~ the crowds with your fancy topper.

Now, off we go. We have a royals-themed party to plan...
