Meghan Markle Just Became the First Royal to Earn *This* Distinction

Meghan Markle may have followed in Grace Kelly’s Hollywood-starlet-turned-royal footsteps, but her latest milestone definitely sets her apart.

The Duchess of Sussex just became the first royal to be submitted for Emmy consideration for her role in Suits, and we have to tip our hats fascinators to her.

USA Network confirmed it submitted Prince Harry’s new wife for the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, for her role as paralegal Rachel Zane on the hit show. If she snags a nom or wins—neutrally polished fingers crossed–she’ll also become the first royal to be awarded the accolade.

Sure, it’s unlikely Meg will ever rule the Commonwealth, but she’s definitely the queen of royal firsts.
