Mark Consuelos Wore Nothing But His Swim Trunks for an Ice Plunge on ‘Live’

If there's one way that Kelly Ripa, 52, knows how to get our attention, it's by posting thirst trap photos of her hubby, Mark Consuelos, also 52, to social media. (We still haven't forgotten that pic from when their air conditioner gave out.) On the July 19 episode of her and Consuelos's daytime show, LIVE with Kelly and Mark, however, the Riverdale actor didn't need any help creating his own thirsty buzz when he stripped down to almost nothing.

In the episode, Consuelos, along with the show's executive producer, Michael Gelman, could be seen showing off the goods in just swim trunks, in order to try ice plunge therapy. Yep, just the swimwear.

Photos from the segment were posted to the official LIVE Instagram account. In the pics, the two are seen lying in their freezing baths and standing up triumphantly afterward. In the final shot, the duo got to wrap up in fuzzy robes once it was all done.

In the video, Ripa explains that this polar plunge was part of the show's larger “Aches & Pains Week.” But as sports medicine doctor Jonathan Leary explained on the ep, it's not all pain. As he says, there are loads of benefits to taking ice baths, from decreased inflammation and better sleep to mood enhancement and dopamine spikes.

When asked about the experience afterward, Gelman said: “You know, I'm feeling good, I'm feeling energized. It was cold. It was painful. No tingling—just straight pain.”

Meanwhile, Ripa's hubby chimed in as well, saying, “It was amazing—I feel great. I'm in. I'm sold.”
