Maria Menounos Posts Rare Photo of Daughter Athena (Because It's Too Cute Not to Share)

That smile is everything

Maria Menounos's daughter, Athena, is officially 3 months old. So, the proud mom is marking the occasion with a rare glimpse of her little girl's face on Instagram.

On her official page, the 45-year-old television personality shared a few pics with her newborn, who is smiling as she lies on a blanket. "3 months old today!" Menounos captioned the post. "Kev and I really want to keep her little face off social BUT no one ever saw her smile because she was too little when we shot the magazine cover."

She added, "Anyway, while she’s still little I figure I get this one post out as she LIGHTS up our day every day and I hope she can light yours up too! We love her soooooo much we may explode!!!"

On an episode of her podcast, Heal Squad, Menounos revealed that she and her husband, Keven Undergaro, had already discussed not sharing their daughter's face on social media. But after capturing the perfect snaps of Athena smiling, she simply couldn't resist.

Menounos said, "I posted for the first time so that everyone can see her face. That picture that I posted of the three of us happened. I'm like, 'Oh my god, she's owning us.' She's in the middle, with her one hand on your chin and the other one on mine. It just happened and it was perfect."

Undergaro added, "In that picture, she's 2½ months. That she's smiling with us, looking up at the camera, it all added up."

To maintain their daughter's privacy, Menounos clarified that she doesn't intend to share too many photos of Athena unless there's a milestone event. She said, "I'm really going to try not to, for her sake."

In an exclusive interview with PureWow, Menounos opened up about how motherhood has changed her. She told us, "I feel like I know my priorities now. I finally know where I belong. I was chasing something I didn't know was missing for so long.'"

She added, "I was trying to find joy in other places. And she's just brought all of it to us, so I know where I belong. I know that she's what matters most in life. Obviously, my husband and my dad and the dogs and everybody too. But she's really my goalpost every single day."
