This Keto-Friendly ‘Sugar Cereal for Adults’ Keeps Selling Out

Pop quiz: Cereal is A) a delicious bowl of nostalgia, B) an acceptable lazy dinner, C) probably not the best choice, nutritionally speaking or D) all of the above.

Yep, the answer is D. But apparently there's a new cereal that's nostalgic without being a bowl of pure sugar and empty carbs, and it's selling out like crazy. It's called Magic Spoon

The cereal's creators, Gabi Lewis and Greg Sewitz (who also started a cricket protein snack company), set out to create a direct-to-consumer product that "mimics the taste, texture, and feeling of classic childhood cereal but has upgraded ingredients," according to Fast Company. Apparently, it worked: Magic Spoon sold out of its inventory within the first weeks of launching, even with the not-so-cheap price of $39 for four boxes. For now, they're back in stock, so get 'em while they're crunchy.

According to the brand's website, Magic Spoon has 12 grams of protein, 3 grams of net carbs, is keto-diet-friendly and grain- and gluten-free. It has 110 calories per serving and comes in four flavors: frosted, fruity, cocoa and cinnamon. Ooo, most cereals have closer to 20 grams of net carbs or more. This sounds more like a protein shake than a bowl of refined flours and marshmallows in terms of nutrition.

Leave it to the keto diet to bring cereal back into vogue.
