Country singer Luke Bryan recently revealed that adopting his late sister’s three children wasn’t even a question for him and his wife, Caroline Boyer.
In an interview with Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts yesterday, Bryan opened up about the journey he faced following the death of his brother, Chris, in 1996 and his sister, Kelly, in 2007. He said, “Just when we started picking up the pieces with my brother, then my sister—we lose my sister. I’ve watched my family go through ebbs and flows where we get mad at God and we get mad at why this happened.”
Bryan went on to reveal that his sister’s widower, Ben Cheshire, passed away in 2014, leaving their three children, Jordan, Kris and Til, without a guardian. Without even thinking twice, Bryan and his wife, who have two sons, Thomas (9) and Tatum (7), adopted their nieces and nephew and welcomed them into their home.
Boyer said of her and Bryan’s decision, “We never thought twice about it. You know, it was never something that he and I had to sit down and talk about. ‘Should we take this on?’ We just did that.”
We’re not crying. You’re crying.
