Lily Collins Shares Major Throwback with Dad Phil Collins for His 71st Birthday

In case you were unaware: Lily Collins, who stars on the hit Netflix show Emily in Paris, also happens to be the daughter of famous musician and former Genesis member, Phil Collins.

And while we assume the father-daughter duo have a lot on both their plates, it's clear from the actress's post that they have maintained a strong connection.

In honor of her dad's 71st birthday, Lily shared a super rare throwback from when she was only a baby. In the photo, Lily sits on her dad's shoulders wearing a white dress with a floral design, paired with a bucket hat covered in palm trees.

Along with this vintage snap, the 32-year-old wrote a heartfelt caption, saying, “Happy birthday, Dad. I may no longer fit in your arms or sit comfortably on your shoulders but you continue to hug me tightly when I need it most. We may not get to spend time together that often but when we are face to face, you really do see me.”

She continued, “You may not always believe it but please trust me when I say, no matter how old I get or what life may bring, I will always need you. Whether I’m proudly watching you up on stage, laughing at home together playing trivial pursuit, I’m forever grateful for the moments and memories we share. Especially the ones I now cherish as an adult myself. Thank you for inspiring me and supporting the woman I am today. I love you to the moon and back again…”

Lily has made posts dedicated to her dad in the past. Only last December, she shared a shot from the stands of a Genesis concert, saying, “Tonight was a night I’ll never forget.
