While we could easily go on and on about Olivia Colman’s epic acceptance speech for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the 2019 Oscars, we can’t stop thinking about Krysten Ritter’s surprise baby bump.

Last night, the 91st annual Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and the 37-year-old actress dropped a major bombshell that no one saw coming: She’s expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Adam Granduciel, who is widely recognized as the frontman of the band The War on Drugs.

Ritter announced the news when she walked the red carpet sporting a long-sleeve gown, massive jewels and her growing baby bump, and we can’t help but wonder if it counts as an extra plus-one.

Following the ceremony, Ritter shared a slideshow on Instagram and wrote, “Surprise!!!” Although Ritter didn’t receive any nominations, she did present the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film to Skin.

The announcement comes just one week after Netflix canceled Ritter’s show Jessica Jones. The Marvel series tells the story of Jessica Jones (duh), a woman who’s trying to balance her new life as a private investigator with her former career as a badass superhero.

Next role? Motherhood.
