King Charles may be all about tradition, but he’s clearly not afraid to nod to rock 'n' roll royalty when the moment calls for it. In a touching and unexpected tribute, The Band of the Coldstream Guards performed a special rendition of Black Sabbath’s "Paranoid" during the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside Buckingham Palace. The tribute was in honor of the late Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away on July 22 at age 76.

Dressed in their iconic red uniforms and towering bearskin hats, the royal guards played the 1970 heavy metal hit for a crowd of onlookers. The moment was captured on video and quickly made its way to TikTok, where the comments rolled in fast.

"Wow!!! Buckingham Palace tribute? That speaks volumes," one person wrote. Another added, "This is incredible. So cool of King Charles!" A third fan chimed in, "How wonderful and absolutely cool for the Royals to honor Ozzy Osbourne," while another simply said, "Fantastic tribute to the Prince of Darkness."

The performance coincided with Osbourne’s funeral procession in Birmingham, where crowds lined the streets to pay their respects.

Ozzy’s connection to the monarchy runs deeper than you might expect. Not only did he famously perform during Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace in 2002, but he also shared a warm relationship with King Charles himself. The two were the same age, both born in 1948, and according to Ozzy, Charles had always treated him with kindness and respect.

After Ozzy’s serious bike accident in 2003, he once shared that Charles even sent him a bottle of scotch. “He’s always treated me with the utmost respect,” he told The Post. “I wish him all the best.”

This tribute might have surprised some fans but judging by the crowd’s reaction, it hit exactly the right note.
