Kelly Ripa *Grills* New Bachelorette Tayshia Adams on ‘Live’: ‘I Don't Like Women Fighting Over Men’

Kelly Ripa recently sat down with new Bachelorette Tayshia Adams. And she wasted no time in asking some tough questions.

On Monday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan, the 50-year-old TV personality and her 45-year-old co-host spoke with Adams about taking over Clare Crawley’s spot as the star of The Bachelorette season 16. During the chat, Ripa made one thing very apparent: She is not a fan of the dating franchise. So, not surprisingly, she asked the 30-year-old reality star to clear a few things up.

“Now, these 16 guys—I'm going to be honest and I'm sure they told you this already—I watched the first season of The Bachelor and I don't like women fighting over men,” Ripa stated. “And then they were like oh, you've got to check out The Bachelorette and I found that even scarier. I don't think any of these guys are good enough for you, and again, I don't know who they are.”

She continued. “Maybe they are nice people, but if they sign up for—and I didn't realize that you guys signed up for each other. You volunteer, or you go through a process, so if these guys sign up for Clare, and now you're the Bachelorette, are they now like making their appeal to you?”

Of course, Adams was appreciative for the All My Children star’s support and concern. “Okay, so, first of all, thank you for being my little hype woman and giving me a compliment,” Adams responded. “But I will say these men are also fantastic, and yes, guys did know that she was going to be the bachelorette. I'm not going to lie. I love the way that my season ended up going. I didn't know these men. They didn't know me, and that was more organic than trying to force something.” We guess this makes sense?

Who knows, maybe now that Kelly knows how things go behind-the-scenes she’ll tune in to the rest of Tayshia’s season? Yeah, we doubt it too.
